I painted, on paper, an abstract grid that reproduces the lung tissue; I used my own blood to do it.
On commission, I make portraits with the client’s blood but on the trace of the same texture.
When I paint them I don’t think about painting and nature; what matters is the exchange and transformation of blood into an image.
If we look at the portraits, they all look the same but they are not because they are obtained from unique materials whose exclusivity is not perceptible at a glance.
