…after Szeemann

Performance

2 February 2014 Fabbrica Rosa, ex Szeemann Archive Maggia, Locarno (CH)

Artwork

Vorwerk Kobold 120 vacuum cleaner and dust.

I collect the most humble part of a world lived and then removed.

I collect, clean and create the void.

An anti-graceful action, a work by Colf, a term used to indicate a domestic collaboration, and which refers to matters that are anything but aesthetic.

The work, the object that remains, offer a modest image, that of a normal household appliance. Who doesn’t own a vacuum cleaner? Who reserves a place of honor for it? Usually it dwells in the domestic hallways, in the closets, a place that is not taken for granted for a work of art.

“… after Szeemann” must be exposed leaning against the wall, slightly reclined to the right and with a little unrolled electrical cable, as if it were temporarily at rest during the cleaning.
