Twine, or mess tin, is a type of thin rope. The most used is linen but it can be of cotton, hemp, sisal even if techno-fibers have supplanted natural materials.

The expression “fare gavetta” indicates the period of apprenticeship useful for learning a trade starting from the bottom, too.
