Tampering is the act by which the emancipation and therefore the freedom of a slave was certified.
It also refers to the alterative use of a good that also negatively modifies the original thing with a malicious and illicit effect.
The Tamperer highlights the void between two hands that are not doing anything, simply fills that void, visualizes it and formalizes it in a volume of bone cement. Although distant from each other and inactive, the hands precede the manipulative action on the matter and when they put their hand on it the fact is already something that precedes any motor action. In that exact moment I free the hand from the manipulative action.
In order to put the same void between the hands of others, I built an electro-mechanical Tamperer that allows the user to assume the ergonomically ideal position.
